Girassol Azul Artistic Productions has entered a new cycle. Founded by Denise Saraceni and Gogoia Sampaio two decades ago, it has provided services to Globo TV and other audiovisual and social media-oriented production companies, creating several hits.
In this new phase, Girassol Azul Artistic Productions welcomes and enhances its horizons to illuminate, develop and produce creative ideas for the ever-changing and dynamic – just like the company’s masterminds – audiovisual industry.
For years reaping success and recognition, the company’s partners Denise Saraceni and Gogoia Sampaio foster Adélia Sampaio to their society, and together they combine their expertise in delivering final products the market desire by offering the public new ways of shaping fiction, documentaries, reality shows and advertisements contents to the current generation.
With a modern, diverse, inclusive, and sustainable proposal, the cross-generational female trio merges the past with the present, always keen on the future of entertainment. Thus, the production company presents the Girassol Azul Hub initiative, which emerges to appreciate projects and ideas with massive development potential, inviting them to be part of a group of extraordinarily talented professionals from all areas of the creative industry and knowledge which will help bring our blooming projects closer to the light.

Adélia Sampaio
Artistic Director & Screenwriter
Film-Maker, Adélia was the first black female to direct a feature film in Brazil, Cursed Love (1984). Before that, she worked as a telephone operator, script supervisor, set assembler, camera operator, makeup artist, and producer in more than 70 productions.
With a particular feminine point of view and daughter of Cinema Novo’s movement – one of the most critical audiovisual revolutions in Brazil – Adélia helped write the history of Brazilian cinema. At 78 years old, the filmmaker dedicates her time to telling her life trajectory to younger generations at film festivals and giving professional advice to the new generation of black filmmakers.

DENISE SARACENI
Artistic Director, Producer & Content Creator
Producer, Screenwriter, and Artistic Director with more than 40 years of experience, Denise was confronted with knowledge, dedication, sensibility, and willpower the criticism of the skeptics who didn’t believe in her capabilities as a female professional to rise to the role only occupied by men thus far. Today, she is considered one of the most well-rounded directors in Brazil, becoming an integral role in the entirety of the audiovisual creative process.
Her resumé consists of 19 telenovelas, ten limited series, eight tv-specials, tv shows, and reality shows. In 2021, she released her first feature film: Pixinguinha – A Kind Man. Nominated for an International Emmy with the tv-specials Emperor Boy’s Christmas (2008) and Do-Re-Mi Factory (2009). Also, as director and producer, she was responsible for various Globo TV award nominations and victories.

GOGOIA SAMPAIO
Costume Designer, Producer & Content Creator
Content Producer, Playwright, Businesswoman, and Costume Designer, Gogoia is the daughter of the first black female director in Brazil, Adélia Sampaio, and journalist Pedro Porfírio. Growing up amidst the Brazilian dictatorship, Gogoia accompanied her mother to movie sets and theatre backstages, where she fell in love with the art of costume design.
he created and developed the reality show Como Manda o Figurino, one of the most significant hit segments of the TV program Fantástico. Throughout her career as a Costume Designer, she was nominated and won various awards for her creations on many Globo TV telenovelas, limited series, and beauty television shows. Driven by challenges, Gogoia started giving tips about fashion, style, beauty, and lifestyle to the future generations of costume designers on her blog BRConfidencial.

Girassol Azul Hub is a creative initiative that fosters the development and acceleration of innovative and original audiovisual projects – in any development stage – and that will contain the sensible and rigorous supervision of Denise Saraceni as Showrunner.
The approved projects will become part of the Hub and be developed and pitched to the industry's leading players.

Screenwriter and Project Consultant
Gell Macedo is a writer, screenwriter and project consultant with a postgraduate degree in Fiction and Documentary Screenwriting.
Curator of the Series Laboratory of the V ROTA Festival de Roteiro, she was also a finalist in the 2021 Cabíria Award, for which she received the Honorable Mention award for her children's feature film script. In 2022, she was a guest curator of VI ROTA and the Cabíria Award.
Member of the LGBTQIA+ and ABRA Credit and Values Committee. Currently, he is dedicated to the creation of original fiction, non-fiction and reality content.
